Read On Wisconsin is a literacy program, administered by the Cooperative Children’s Book Center, promoting high-quality books for children and teens throughout our state.

Great Books for New Readers is a comprehensive, community-organized list from GoodReads.

Novelist K-8 enables kids to find read-alikes, award winners, books-to-movies and more! Check out Novelist K-8 for great kids’ book suggestions! Must sign in with your library card.

Best Books for Babies is a list of great read-alouds and picture books for little ones.

Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) publishes lists of recommended books from the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC).

Top 100 Chapter Books for Emerging Readers is a favorite post from School Library Journal.

Tweens/Teens

Epic Reads is an interactive website with contests, blogs, polls, reviews, author info, videos and book info.

Young Adult Series and Sequels is maintained by the Bettendorf Public Library.  This is the site to go to for an awesome database of YA series titles.

Novel Novice is a place dedicated to showcasing Young Adult literature, encouraging reading and promoting education. We’ve now expanded to include reviews of adult romance, as well as select children’s and middle grade titles. has out of the ordinary teen book lists!

Teen Book Finder from YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association) helps teens from 12 to 18 years of age find award-winning titles.

Teenreads.com – Ultimate Reading List  has an interesting ultimate reading list for teens. Here’s a quote from the site: “Our criteria: We looked for books that were compelling, beautifully written, pure fun, thought-provoking or edge-of-your-seat gripping; books that we would hand to someone and say, “read this!”
They go through the list each year and take out some titles while adding others.

Reading Rants! has out of the ordinary teen book lists!

Great Graphic Novels for Teens lists are first rate in the marriage of storytelling and art and have appeal for a wide range of teen readers from the Young Adult Library Services Association.

Teen’s Top Ten is a “teen choice” list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year!

The Hub site from YALSA offers recommendations for great teen reads, polls about your favorite teen reading topics and YA fun!

Wisconsin’s Digital Library for Teens is the place to download your favorite books!

What’s Next, Books in Series is maintained by the Kent District Library in Michigan.  This site allows the user to easily search  and print off lists for books in a series.
