1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

This is a multi-year program to encourage parents to read aloud 1,000 books with their children before they enter five-year-old Kindergarten. We invite you and your child to embark on a fantastic adventure together that’s sure to create a lifelong love of reading! Although it may sound overwhelming to imagine reading 1,000 books before Kindergarten, it is not very difficult with an early start. At the rate of just one book per day, it takes less than three years. Sign up at the library to receive a book bag and your first reading record! Now you may also participate using our online platform Beanstack!

100 Stories

Each year, the library challenges preschool-2nd grade students to read/be read to 100 stories and 3rd-5th grade students to read 500 pages, which is equivalent to 100 stories. This program is part of the Frozen February Fun Challenge. Readers who complete the challenge will receive an “I Read 100 Stories” t-shirt. Registration is required. Now you may also participate using our online platform Beanstack!
Program schedules may vary due to inclement weather or scheduling changes. Please check our website calendar or Facebook page for any changes.
